Creative Coaching

Coaching is a series of conversations during which you explore what’s happening in your life and how you can create a new way to reach your goals. What makes it different from other conversations is its impact on you – the client.
Coaching provides a safe and supportive space to express your ideas and develop a plan to help you move forward and expand. You will learn tools and strategies to help you deal with your challenges.
Creativity coaching is like life coaching but specially designed for creative individuals. It focuses on your creative work and journey. It helps you understand and develop your creative skills.
As a creativity coach, I’m trained to work with creative people. As a creative, I know the process of making and all the challenges that come with it. I understand how vital creating is for you.

As a life and creativity coach and a ceramic designer with 20 years of experience, I support people with a wide range of goals. Whether you want to launch a business, navigate a life transition, or build confidence, I can help you move forward.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds, artists, designers, and anyone interested in personal or professional growth.

My coaching is practical and goal-oriented, while also drawing on creative, body-based, and hands-on methods. We might use clay or creative exercises to explore feelings and make ideas visible. The focus is always on reflection and turning new insights into meaningful, practical steps.

During a coaching session, we identify where you are now, where you would like to be, and what’s standing in the way. Then, we will work on these internal and external obstacles.

I work in a non-directive approach.  I believe in your ability to create your own ideas and choose which steps to take. My role is to support and guide you, offering reflection tools and strategies to help you gain clarity and move forward with confidence.

Hi, I’m Kesem. I’m a ceramic designer, life and creativity coach, mentor, and clay therapist.
With 20 years of experience in ceramics and a background in coaching, I help people find clarity and direction in both their personal and creative lives. My approach combines practical support, creative exploration, and hands-on work.
Whether you want to grow your creative business, move through a challenge, or connect more deeply with your own ideas, I offer guidance, structure, and encouragement. I believe that everyone can shape their own path, and I’m here to help you do just that.

Most of my clients prefer face-to-face coaching in my quiet studio in the center of Amsterdam, a calm space where you can focus fully on our conversation. If you’d rather meet online, we can schedule a session via Zoom. For online sessions, I recommend choosing a time and place where you can speak privately and without interruptions.

FAQ

Coaching is a supportive conversation where you can explore what’s important to you and what you’d like to change. We’ll work together to set goals, discuss challenges, and identify practical steps to help you move forward.

My clients include individuals, entrepreneurs, and creatives dealing with personal and professional challenges. They seek support, guidance, reflection, and a desire to learn about themselves and acquire strategies and coaching tools.

In each session, we’ll have a supportive conversation focused on you, where you are now, where you’d like to be, and what might be getting in the way. I’ll ask questions to help you reflect, and together we’ll explore options and next steps. We’ll also check in on your progress and use practical tools, or sometimes hands-on exercises, to support your process.

Sessions are usually 60 minutes. You can also book a 120 -minute power session.

Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly. As long as it suits your life and fits into my schedule, we can work it out.
In my experience, one week often isn’t long enough to absorb the lessons and information that have come up during a session. A two-week interval tends to give you the necessary space to do that. But really, it’s up to you. You should just make sure that you have time to reflect on what you have learned between the sessions.

This depends on what you want to achieve with your coaching. Most people come with a particular challenge or goal in mind. For some people, resolving that challenge or achieving that goal may take six sessions. Others might take longer. It is a very personal decision based on your individual goal, your commitment and openness to change, your circumstances and other factors.

You can choose to end the coaching process at any time, that decision is up to you. Please give me two weeks’ notice so I can prepare a final session for closure.

Most of my clients choose face-to-face coaching, which takes place in my studio in the center of Amsterdam. It is a quiet space with no distractions where you can focus on the conversation.
If you’d like, we can also schedule a session via Zoom. For online sessions, it’s best to find a time and place where you won’t be interrupted during our conversation and can talk privately.

Please check the Coaching packages above.

To get the most out of coaching, it helps to come with an open mind and a willingness to share honestly. Be ready to reflect, try new approaches, and take small steps between sessions. Trust, honesty, and a flexible attitude will support your growth and make the process more rewarding.

I will provide you with a safe space and I will bring trust and honesty to the coaching relationship. I will listen to you and ask questions that will help you to expand your thinking. I will also challenge you to create the change you wish to see in your life and support you in this explorative process. Lastly, I will assist you with making an action plan and guide you as you begin to move forward.

You will decide what you want to talk about. I won’t press you to talk about anything that you are not comfortable sharing.

YES. I have an obligation for confidentiality. I fully understand the value of your trust, and I take every precaution to safeguard it. What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions.

If you suffer from trauma that is recent or too intense or if you are dealing with a shocking event with lasting impact, you should contact a therapist. Coaches are not trained in this field. Therapy can help you look into emotional resolutions to past problems to move forward. The focus thereby is on healing the past and gaining insights by understanding the why.

While you are working with a therapist it is possible to work with a coach at the same time. While therapy is more coping-oriented, the coaching process is more goal-oriented and can support you in achieving your goals, stepping out of your comfort zone, and taking action.

Yes, you can! Many clients change in different and powerful ways. Coaching can be the catalyst to real change in your life, career, and other fields.

No, I’m working in a non-directive coaching approach which means I’m not going to tell you what to do, but I will provide you with the support, perspective, and tools you need to figure that out for yourself.

We can certainly discuss your requirements and come to a mutually agreed solution.
